36 Views for Four Horns

この作品のタイトルは、葛飾北斎の《富嶽三十六景》に着想を得ています。『富嶽三十六景』は、富士山を様々な場所や角度から描いた版画の連作です。
本作のコンセプトは、対象を異なる視点から繰り返し見つめることです。四本のホルンは、ときに同じ対象を異なる角度や距離から捉えた姿として、またときにはその対象の断片として現れます。
音楽における変奏の考え方を出発点としながらも、本作の関心は素材そのものを変形することだけではありません。同じ対象であっても、視点や距離が変化することで異なる音像として立ち現れることにあります。
『日本民謡による3つのブルレスク』

この曲は、東京ホルン・クワルテットの委嘱により、今年の5月に書きあげた。ブルレスク（おどけた、ふざけたの意味）とあるように、遊びの要素をふんだんに盛り込んだユーモラスな3つの小品から出来ている。
I おてもやん／日本民謡には殆ど3拍子系の曲がない。そこで前後の曲と変化をつけるため、原曲の軽妙な2拍子を少しとぼけた3拍子に変化させてみた。
それにしても、原曲の方言（熊本弁）丸出しのユニークな歌詞は他に例をみない。
II ちゃっきり節／静岡県民謡による陽気で快活なフィナーレ。途中から“ちゃっきり”のリズムから派生した様々な日本民謡が次々と登場する。ゆとりのある方は何曲使われているか数えてみよう。

36 Views for Four Horns
The title of this work is inspired by Katsushika Hokusai’s celebrated series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, a collection of woodblock prints depicting Mount Fuji from a wide variety of locations and perspectives.
The central concept of this composition is to observe the same subject repeatedly from different viewpoints. At times, the four horns present the same object as seen from different angles or distances; at others, they reveal only fragments of it.
Although the work takes the musical idea of variation as its starting point, its focus is not simply the transformation of musical material. Rather, it explores how changes in perspective and distance allow the same subject to emerge as entirely different sonic images.

Three Burlesques on Japanese Folk Songs
Commissioned by the Tokyo Horn Quartet, this work was completed in May 2026.
As the title suggests, the three short pieces are full of humor and playful imagination, drawing upon well-known Japanese folk songs.
I. Otemoyan
Japanese folk songs are rarely written in triple meter. To create a contrast with the surrounding movements, the lively duple-meter original has been transformed into a slightly whimsical waltz-like dance.
The original song is also famous for its unique lyrics, written entirely in the Kumamoto dialect.
II. Chakkiri-bushi
A bright and energetic finale based on a folk song from Shizuoka Prefecture.
As the movement unfolds, melodies from a variety of Japanese folk songs gradually appear, all derived from the characteristic rhythm of Chakkiri-bushi. Listeners with a keen ear are invited to discover how many folk tunes they can recognize.

岸上穣（Jo Kisigami)
東京藝術大学を安宅賞・アカンサス音楽賞を受賞して卒業後、フランクフルト音楽・舞台芸術大学でEsa Tapani氏に師事。第23回日本管打楽器コンクール第1位、第80回日本音楽コンクール第2位。ヴィースバーデン・ヘッセン州立歌劇場を経て、2009年より東京都交響楽団ホルン奏者。ソリストとして東京都交響楽団、Les Sièclesなど国内外のオーケストラと共演し、Stiftsmusik Stuttgart、JCFフィッシャー国際音楽祭（チェコ）など国内外でリサイタルを開催。2020年にはドイツ・Organumよりアルバム『DE PROFUNDIS』をリリースし、Deutschlandfunkなど欧州の放送局で高い評価を得る。2023年にはプラハ芸術アカデミー（HAMU）に招聘されマスタークラスを担当。東邦音楽大学講師。日本の歴史ある神社・寺院・世界遺産・自然を舞台に演奏活動を行うプロジェクト「WaldKonzert」代表。Travel Brass Quintet、Brass Ensemble ZERO Tokyo、東京シンフォニエッタに所属。
Jo Kishigami is a Japanese horn player and has been a member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra since 2009. Before returning to Japan, he performed with the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden in Germany. He graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts and continued his studies with Prof. Esa Tapani at HfMDKFrankfurt.
As a soloist, chamber musician, and educator, he has appeared throughout Europe and Asia, including performances with Les Siècles under François-Xavier Roth, the Saito Kinen Festival, Stiftsmusik Stuttgart, and the JCF Fischer International Music Festival in the Czech Republic. In 2023, he was invited by Ondřej Vrabec to give a masterclass at HAMU Prague. Since 2020, he has served on the faculty of Toho College of Music.
Alongside his orchestral career, Kishigami is active on both modern and natural horn. He is the founder of WaldKonzert, a project presenting concerts at Japan’s historic shrines, temples, World Heritage sites, and natural landscapes, creating opportunities to connect music with Japan’s cultural heritage and the natural environment.
日髙 剛（Takeshi Hidaka)
Takeshi Hidaka (Horn)
長崎大学経済学部卒業後、東京藝術大学でホルンを学び、1996年よりオランダ・マーストリヒト音楽院に留学。エリッヒ・ペンツェル、ヴィル・サンダースの各氏に師事。
帰国後、広島交響楽団、日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団、読売日本交響楽団を経て、2005年にNHK交響楽団へ入団。ヘルベルト・ブロムシュテット、パーヴォ・ヤルヴィ、チョン・ミョンフン、小澤征爾、ロリン・マゼール、ヴォルフガング・サヴァリッシュらの指揮のもとで演奏活動を行った。
2013年より東京藝術大学准教授。国立音楽大学、昭和音楽大学、名古屋芸術大学客員教授も務める。
新日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団客演首席奏者として活動するほか、フィンランド放送交響楽団、ギュルツェニヒ管弦楽団にも客演。ソリスト、室内楽奏者として国内外で幅広く活動し、「ホルンと彫刻の調べ」をはじめとする芸術分野とのコラボレーションにも取り組んでいる。
After graduating with a degree in Economics from Nagasaki University, Takeshi Hidaka studied horn at Tokyo University of the Arts. In 1996, he continued his studies at Conservatorium Maastricht in the Netherlands, where he studied with Prof. Erich Penzel and Prof. Will Sanders.
After returning to Japan, he performed with the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, and Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra before joining the NHK Symphony Orchestra in 2005. During his years with the orchestra, he performed under distinguished conductors including Herbert Blomstedt, Paavo Järvi, Myung-Whun Chung, Seiji Ozawa, Lorin Maazel, and Wolfgang Sawallisch.
Since 2013, Mr. Hidaka has been Associate Professor of Horn at Tokyo University of the Arts. He has also taught at KunitachiCollege of Music, Showa University of Music, and Nagoya University of the Arts as Visiting Professor.
He currently serves as Guest Principal Horn of the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and has appeared as a guest with the Finland Radio Symphony Orchestra and Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne. He is active internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, and is also known for interdisciplinary collaborations with the visual arts, including The Harmony of the Horn and Sculpture.
丸山勉 （Tsutomu Maruyama ）
丸山勉は13歳よりホルンを始め、武蔵野音楽大学を卒業。在学中に日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団に入団した。第8回日本管打楽器コンクール・ホルン部門第1位を受賞し、その後ジュネーブに留学、ブルーノ・シュナイダー氏に師事。
紀尾井ホール室内管弦楽団、読売日本交響楽団の首席ホルン奏者を歴任。現在は日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団客演首席奏者を務めるほか、つの笛集団、カスタム・ウインズのメンバーとしても活動している。
ソリスト、室内楽奏者として、ソロCD『ルネッサンス』『レゾナンス』『遙かなるエレジー』をはじめ、カスタム・ウインズ、つの笛集団、オーケストラでの録音を多数リリース。また、ホルンのための編曲・教育的楽譜・教則本も多数出版している。
武蔵野音楽大学教授。日本ホルン協会副会長。
Tsutomu Maruyama began studying the horn at the age of 13 and graduated from Musashino Academia Musicae. While still a student, he joined the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. He was awarded First Prize in the Horn Division of the 8th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition and later continued his studies in Geneva with Bruno Schneider.
He has served as Principal Horn of the Kioi Hall Chamber Orchestra Tokyo and the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra. He currently serves as Guest Principal Horn of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and is a member of Tsunobue Shudanand Custom Winds.
As a soloist and chamber musician, Mr. Maruyama has released the solo CDs Renaissance, Resonance, and Harukanaru Elegy, as well as numerous recordings with Custom Winds, TsunobueShudan, and orchestras. He has also published a wide range of horn arrangements, educational editions, and instructional books.
Mr. Maruyama is Professor of Horn at Musashino Academia Musicae and Vice President of the Japan Horn Society.

金 揆璃 Gyulee Kim
韓国芸術総合学校を卒業し、現在、東京藝術大学大学院修士課程に在学中。日髙剛教授のもとで学んでいる。
2026年アートシルビア金管五重奏コンクール特別賞（第2位）、2025年済州国際金管コンクール金管五重奏部門第1位、2022年済州国際室内楽コンクール第3位、2021年海外派遣コンクールおよび学生音楽協会コンクール第1位など、数々の賞を受賞。
ホルン奏者として、ソロおよび室内楽の演奏に意欲的に取り組みながら、アンサンブルやオーケストラでの活動を通して、さらなる音楽性の研鑽を重ねている。
Gyulee Kim graduated from the Korea National University of Arts and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Tokyo University of the Arts, where she studies under Professor Takeshi Hidaka.
She has received numerous awards, including the Special Prize (2nd Prize) at the 2026 Artsylvia Brass Quintet Competition, First Prize in the Brass Quintet Division at the 2025 Jeju International Brass Competition, Third Prize at the 2022 Jeju International Chamber Music Competition, and First Prize at both the 2021 Overseas Dispatch Competition and the Student Music Association Competition. As a horn player, she is committed to both solo and chamber music performance while continuing to refine her musicianship through ensemble and orchestral activities.
直田真潮（Masho Naota)
13歳よりホルンを始める。洗足学園音楽大学管楽器コースを首席で卒業。
第30回千葉県吹奏楽個人コンクールにて金賞、審査員特別賞、賛助会員賞(グランプリ)。第15回日本管弦打楽器ソロ・コンテストにて金賞、埼玉県知事賞。第21回日本ジュニア管打楽器コンクールにて金賞を受賞。大学在学中「2020年度コンチェルトの夕べ」にて洗足フィルハーモニー管弦楽団と共演。これまでにホルンを大森啓史、𡈽谷瞳、日髙剛の各氏に、室内楽を久永重明、古田俊博の各氏に師事。
現在、東京藝術大学大学院音楽研究科修士課程在学中。響け！ユーフォニアム公式吹奏楽団「プログレッシブ！ウインド・オーケストラ」コアメンバー。
Mashio Naota began studying the horn at the age of 13 and graduated as the top student from the Wind Instrument Department of Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.
She received the Gold Prize, Jury Special Prize, and Grand Prize at the 30th Chiba Prefecture Wind Music Solo Competition, the Gold Prize and Governor of Saitama Prize at the 15th Japan Wind, String and Percussion Solo Contest, and the Gold Prize at the 21st Japan Junior Wind and Percussion Competition.
While at university, she appeared as soloist with the SenzokuPhilharmonic Orchestra in the 2020 Concerto Evening concert. She studied horn with Hirofumi Omori, Hitomi Tsuchiya, and Takeshi Hidaka, and chamber music with Shigeaki Hisanaga and Toshihiro Furuta.
She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Tokyo University of the Arts and is a core member of the Progressive! Wind Orchestra, the official concert band inspired by the Sound! Euphonium series.
櫻井 あや （Aya Sakurai)
北海道札幌市出身。
私立北星学園女子高等学校音楽科を経て、愛知県立芸術大学卒業。現在、東京藝術大学大学院修士課程1年在学中。
第3回・第4回・第5回ドルチェ楽器アンサンブルコンクール名古屋大会にて金賞受賞。第5回大会では金管五重奏で第1位を受賞し、2026年3月に記念演奏会を開催した。
Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Aya Sakurai studied in the Music Department of Hokusei Gakuen Girls’ High School before graduating from Aichi University of the Arts.
She is currently in her first year of the Master’s program at Tokyo University of the Arts.
She received Gold Prizes at the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Dolce Musical Instruments Ensemble Competition Nagoya Division. At the 5th competition, she won First Prize in the brass quintet category and gave a commemorative concert in March 2026.
つの笛集団とは
1978年、東京を拠点とするオーケストラの若手・中堅ホルン奏者によって結成されたホルンアンサンブル。
結成以来、毎年開催する定期演奏会をはじめ、NHK-FMへの出演、各地での演奏活動やイベントへの参加、そして毎年8月にはサマーキャンプを開催するなど、日本のホルン界を代表するアンサンブルとして活動を続けている。
1995年には山形、2014年にはロンドンそして、2026年にはクラクフで開催される第58回International Horn Symposiumに出演。
レパートリーは200曲を超え、その多くは作曲家への委嘱作品や、メンバーによる編曲作品によって構成されている。新たな作品を積極的に発表しながら、ホルンアンサンブルの可能性を広げ続けている。
About HORN ENSENBLE TSUNOBUE SHUDAN TOKYO
Founded in 1978 by young professional horn players from leading orchestras in the Tokyo metropolitan area, the Tsunobue Horn Ensemble is one of Japan’s longest-established and most distinguished horn ensembles.
The ensemble presents an annual concert series, appears on NHK-FM radio, performs at festivals and special events throughout Japan, and organizes its annual Summer Camp every August, bringing together horn players of all generations.
Tsunobue has appeared at the International Horn Symposium in Yamagata (1995), London (2014), and is honored to return for the 58th International Horn Symposium in Kraków (2026).
Its repertoire now exceeds 200 works and continues to expand through commissions from contemporary composers as well as original arrangements by ensemble members, reflecting the group’s ongoing commitment to enriching the horn ensemble repertoire.
